Vision Statement

The Trinity 2013 Vision Statement, approved by the Board in 2003

This is a vision statement intended to describe what Trinity will be in 10 years. From this vision statement strategic goals will be formulated to move toward this vision.

Trinity International University is playing a significant role in what God is doing globally. A forward thinking institution for higher education, its diverse Board of Regents, administration, faculty, and staff are committed to our statement of faith and core values.

Trinity addresses the ever-changing educational needs of the church as it engages the world. The university utilizes classical methods, up-to-date educational delivery systems, and modern technology to provide excellent education in the traditional campus setting, in urban centers such as Chicago, Florida, and Southern California and other strategic locations, and by distance education. Our innovative curricula are informed by the ongoing research of our faculty and influenced by strategic partnerships with churches and other organizations that extend our worldwide reach and impact. Trinity educates students holistically by thoughtful coordination of curricular and cocurricular experiences.

The Deerfield, Illinois campus, consistent with its master plan, contains state-of-the-art facilities and technology as well as beautiful grounds that effectively serve changing needs of students, faculty, and staff. The endowment supports multiple faculty chairs and extensive scholarship assistance.

As a university, we celebrate common purposes and goals as we also embrace the distinctive identities of individual schools and programs. Each school's vision and strategic initiatives are integrated as a part of the vision for the university. All understand and value the contributions of the schools and work together to achieve the mission.

Trinity Evangelical Divinity School (TEDS) stands dynamically in the historic Christian tradition committed to the Bible as God's Word and its contextual application to contemporary life. TEDS exists to prepare ministers of God's Word who are faithful to Scripture, and attentive to the diversity which exists in culture with respect to ethnicity, economic status, and Christian theological understanding. TEDS, a community of people who together worship God through Christ, strengthens the global church by nurturing servants of Christ through strategic partnerships, research, and accessible education.

Trinity College is recognized as a high-ranking national Christian liberal arts college. The diverse student population is noted for academic excellence and potential for Christian leadership. The College faculty are recognized as scholars and mentors who empower their students to integrate their faith with learning and life. Our graduates are accepted into top graduate and professional schools and occupy positions of increasing influence throughout the world, in the marketplace, the community, and the church.

Trinity Graduate School (TGS) is recognized for innovative programs that prepare top-tier professionals and scholars to integrate a Christian worldview with their disciplines in cutting-edge engagement with culture. TGS programs take advantage of the latest educational formats and technologies and are designed to serve both residential and non-residential students. Graduates of TGS continue to impact significantly such fields as medicine, law, education, public policy, business, and the helping professions.

Trinity Law School has established a consistent program of high quality and effective legal education that provides full integration of the standard elements of the law curriculum with Christian, biblical, and natural law jurisprudence to prepare graduates for success on the bar examination and to equip them to intercede for justice while displaying the love of God in their law careers. The law school has become a first-tier California Bar accredited institution and has moved closer to becoming a candidate for American Bar Association accreditation while balancing its revenue and expenses.

Trinity is recognized for its leadership in Christian thought. Our faculty and alumni influence the world by serving as credible voices for a Christian view of significant cultural issues, such as bioethics and law. Trinity has achieved a reputation for forming students to transform the world through Christ.
