Invested Time

No matter how busy life gets, time committed to someone else’s development is never wasted. Here are four snapshots of how mentoring relationships have affected Trinity’s undergraduate students.

Christ in a Coffee Shop

It's not the bagels that draw a busy pastor to stop for coffee each morning. It's the investment.

Experience the Drama

Dr. Kevin Vanhoozer has been described by Oxford University’s Alister McGrath as “one of the most significant younger theological voices of our generation.” Here he discusses his new book, The Drama of Doctrine, and explains how our understanding of theology impacts our participation in God’s unfolding drama. You may never look at “doctrine” the same way again.

Intelligent Design

by Associate Professor of Biology Angelo Rentas

You’ve heard about it in the media, but what do you know about “Intelligent Design”? Where did it come from? What does it propose? And why is it controversial?

Kelvin Baker (BA ’91)

Assistant City Manager and Director of Public Services, North Miami Beach, Florida

During Florida’s hurricane season last year, while many people fled the region, Kelvin Baker secured his home and brought his wife and four children to stay in North Miami Beach, right in the hub of the crisis. As assistant city manager and director of public services—essentially second-in-command—Kelvin needed to be on-site, “navigating the ship.”

Carrie Gordon Earll (MA ’03)

Policy Analyst, Focus on the Family

Carrie worked in television broadcasting in the 1980s as a field reporter and anchor in Pensacola, Florida, and Mobile and Montgomery, Alabama. In the mid-80s, she received the Hector Award from Troy State University in Alabama for a series of reports on homeschooling. In 1991, Carrie became a policy analyst for Focus on the Family.

“I’ve been in student government, played football, and taken trips to all different parts of the world.”
