3. The Position

The president is the spiritual leader and chief executive of the university and in that role will:

Communicate the mission of the university in a compelling way to all constituencies
Lead so that the mission is accomplished
Work toward that end in furthering the values of the university identified by the Board of Regents and the Evangelical Free Church of America to which TIU belongs.

The president serves as a member of the Board of Regents and its Executive Committee and as an ex-officio member of all committees of the Board of Regents. He is accountable to the Board of Regents for the overall spiritual, fiscal, and academic integrity of the university.

The position requires a focus on activities external to the campus that further Trinity's mission, including financial advancement of the university.

The president maintains a visible presence on the campuses to provide overall leadership of the university. This includes being host at major activities on campus that require the presence and visibility of the Office of the President, e.g., homecoming, parents weekend, major conferences, meetings of the Board of Regents, meetings with major donors, and so on.
