To You, Great God, We Sing the Blessings of Family

To you, great God, we sing the blessings of family.
You saved us to be members of your church.
One in diversity, each with a gift to bring,
We praise you now for the gift of community.

We praise you God our Father
For using sons and daughters
As instruments through which you bless your church.

Our minds can hardly hold the wealth of knowledge told
By one who speaks your truth into our souls.
You've blessed him as a prophet, prepared her as a teacher.
You've revived us with their words of life.

Our hands have all been held by the Christian who loves well,
Who enters into battle for our souls.
She's prayed for our repentance. He's sat a while in silence.
The prayer of a righteous Christian availeth much.

Our actions have been shaped by a life you've recreated,
One that follows Jesus to the cross.
Through all life's circumstances this faithful Christian moves,
His selfless ways reveal your Kingdom breaking through.
