Carol L. Kennett, PhD

Carol L. Kennett is professor of education at Trinity International University's Trinity College. Kennett joined Trinity in 1996 after teaching undergraduate and graduate courses in multicultural education, research design, and historical foundations of education at Eastern and Acadia (formerly Beaver) Colleges in suburban Philadelphia.

Dr. Kennett served on the school board and helped to develop the vision statement, educational philosophy, and educational plan for World Impact's Frederick Douglass Christian School, which serves families of the urban poor in Chester, Pennsylvania.

In 1994, Dr. Kennett developed and organized a peer tutoring program in which high school students tutor peers enrolled in the resource room. In 1992, she developed and organized a cross-cultural tutorial program in which high school students tutor other students from an inner city elementary school.

Dr. Kennett earned the Doctor of Philosophy in education from the University of Pennsylvania and the Master of Arts in counseling psychology from Immaculata College. Her doctoral dissertation was entitled, Friends or Foes: Relationships of Trust and Mistrust in Inner City Education. She was certified as an educational therapist at National Institutes of Learning Disabilities and received the Bachelor of Arts in English from Eastern College.

Dr. Kennett's areas of expertise include secondary education, intercultural communication, and diversity issues. Dr. Kennett lives with her husband, Roger, and they have three grown children.
