Trinity Alumnus Erik R. Peterson (BA '08) Died Saturday, February 20, 2010

Trinity College alumnus Erik R. Peterson (BA '08) died on Saturday, February 20, at the age of 25. Erik majored in Sport and Wellness Management, and was active in the Trinity Choir.

He worked as a fitness attendant, and attended Libertyville Covenant Church. Erik collapsed while playing basketball Saturday evening with friends in the Meyer Sports Complex.  Paramedics were called immediately and he was taken to Highland Park Hospital where efforts to resuscitate him were unsuccessful.

In mourning the loss of Erik, students are invited to speak with their RA, or to contact the Trinity Counseling Center at 847-317-4067.  

A memorial service for Erik will be held Saturday, February 27 at 1 PM at Libertyville Covenant Church, 250 North Saint Mary's Road, Libertyville, IL 60048.  For further information, contact the church at (847) 362-3308.

On Erik's Facebook page, he listed this as a favorite quote: "For God so loved the world that he gave his only son, that whomever believes in him will not perish, but have eternal life." - John 3:16
