The friends I have here have touched my life so deeply - it is obvious that God placed us in each other's lives.

Policies for Distance Students

Who can use this service?

  • Current faculty, staff, and students at non-Illinois extension sites
  • Current Deerfield campus students who do not reside within 60 miles of Deerfield but are located within the continental United States or Canada. This includes both D.Min. students and students finishing their thesis or dissertation remotely.
  • Students who live outside the continental U.S. or Canada may request articles, since those will be retrieved via email.
  • Florida students should request items through their librarian. More information

Who cannot use this service?

  • Students, faculty and staff of the South Chicago Regional Center, since it is located within 60 miles of the Deerfield Campus.
  • The Trinity Law School in California is excluded because it is a separate campus with an on-site library.
  • International students cannot request books.

Requirements for using Distance Student Services

  • Students should first connect with their local public library to see if that library is willing to request books and articles through their Interlibrary Loan department.
  • Students must reside 60 miles or more from the Deerfield campus.
  • Students must be paying tuition, audit or continuation fees.
  • Students must have access to their Trinity GroupWise or TriNet email account for receiving articles.
  • Students not having a TrinCat account must fill out the "Patron Registration for Distance Services." First try logging into TrinCat to see if your account is active.

What can I request?

  • Books
    • Only books from Rolfing Library's main collection are available for loan to distance students.
    • Rolfing Library books will be mailed to the patron for the cost of postage via United States Postal Service, both directions.
    • A maximum of 10 books may be requested per week.
    • The loan period will be for the full amount of time allotted by your patron group.  See Library Circulation Policies for more information.
  • Articles
    • For journal or magazine articles from the Rolfing print collection, fill out this form: Distance Education: Request for Articles
    • For journal or magazine articles we don't own, fill out this form: TrinCat Article Request form
    • All articles will be sent to the patron's Trinity GroupWise or TriNet email account.
    • There will be a fee of $1.00 per article.
    • A maximum of 20 articles may be requested per week.

What if I am located Overseas?

You may still request Journal articles, since they will be emailed to your Trinity GroupWise email, but we cannot ship books overseas.

All articles will need to be opened in Adobe® Reader®, so you will need that software loaded on your computer.

Charges

  • All charges will be posted to your library patron account.
  • Charges of over $2.00 will be sent to the TIU Business Office by the 15th of each month to be added to your student account.

Lost Books

  • When books that you have requested are lost in the mail you will be charged for the cost of the book.
  • Therefore, we recommend that you purchase insurance for the package.
