Contributors to Trinity Journal

Submission Guidelines

We invite qualified writers to submit articles and book reviews for publication consideration to the journal. When article manuscripts are submitted to the Trinity Journal editorial board, the following factors should be considered:

We look for articles that exhibit

  • excellent scholarship
  • clear style and presentation
  • applicability for the church today

Our readers are mostly

  • students
  • teachers
  • pastors
  • missionaries
  • educated lay people
  • others in Christian ministry

Style Guidelines

All manuscripts sent to Trinity Journal for consideration should conform to:
"Guidelines for Journal of Biblical Literature Articles" JBL Instructions
       (requires Adobe Reader)

A useful resource for standard abbreviations in biblical and theological studies is:
Patrick E. Alexander et al., eds., SBL Handbook of Style (Hendrickson, 1999)

Whenever matters of style are not covered there, please refer to:
The Chicago Manual of Style, 15E (University of Chicago Press, 2003)

Submission Process

We ask that authors enclose an abstract with each article they submit for  consideration in addition to the manuscript text of the article.

Manuscripts should be sent to the attention of the editor, Dr. Robert Yarbrough, at the journal's address. Manuscripts typically are not returned to the author; thus, we encourage authors to retain the original. Electronic copies may be sent to trinjournal@teds.edu as attachments, preferably in MS Word, with an introductory message explaining what should be found as the attached document.

When we receive an article, it is distributed to the Trinity Journal editorial board with the author's name omitted from the manuscript. The board then determines whether or not the article should be published, and the editor notifies the author accordingly. Note that the journal editor reserves the right to decline unsolicited manuscripts.

Book Review Submissions

If you wish to submit a book review, follow the guidelines at this link. As with articles, note that the book review editor reserves the right to decline unsolicited manuscripts.
