Elizabeth Yao-Hwa Sung

Prof. Elizabeth Yao-Hwa Sung is assistant professor of Systematic Theology at Trinity Evangelical Divinity School. She earned her BA at Lebanon Valley College and her MA and MMus at the University of Michigan. Prof. Sung also received an MDiv from Trinity Evangelical Divinity School, where she is currently a PhD candidate.

Prof. Sung has extensive professional ministry experience, having served with InterVarsity Christian Fellowship as a theological consultant and as a campus minister to graduate students for more than twenty years. A gifted musician, she has served on staff at her church as director of worship and regularly plays piano in worship services. As a student at TEDS she served on the Theological Rationale for Diversity Committee for Trinity International University. Among her research interests are theological anthropology, theology and social theory, culture and biblical and theological hermeneutics, and reconciliation and the doctrine of the church.
