Martin Crain, DMin Martin Crain is director of professional doctoral programs and associate professor of Pastoral Theology at Trinity Evangelical Divinity School in Deerfield, Illinois.
Before assuming his position at Trinity, Dr. Crain served nine years as district superintendent of the New England district of the Evangelical Free Church of America (EFCA). He also served for six years as senior pastor for Faith Evangelical Free Church in Acton, Massachusetts; for five years as senior pastor of Grace Evangelical Free Church in Stamford, Connecticut; and for two years as youth pastor of Our Savior Evangelical Free Church in Wheeling, Illinois. Dr. Crain received the Bachelor of Science from University of Illinois, where he majored in both mathematics and computer science. He earned the Master of Divinity and the Doctor of Ministry from Trinity Evangelical Divinity School. Dr. Crain's areas of expertise include philosophy of ministry, ministry in the smaller church, and leadership development in the local church. He has been an education track trainer with the T-Net International. He served for twelve years as board chairman for Areopagus II America, a national apologetics ministry, and has been an associate chaplain for the protestant ministry at O'Hare Airport. Dr. Crain lives in Gurnee, Illinois, with his wife Lydia. They have two grown children. In his spare time, Crain enjoys travel, reading, golf, and games of strategy. |
