Guide to Careers in Child and Family Policy--an interactive guide to training for careers in child and family policy, including opportunities that: (1) offer short-term exposure to previously unexplored settings (e.g., summer internships and fellowships; part-time jobs); (2) provide graduate training at a masters or PhD level in fields related to child and family policy (e.g. public policy, social work, or applied developmental science); (3) foster transitions to a new career (e.g., a masters in public policy following a degree in developmental psychology; a post-doctoral fellowship in a policy setting).
Child Life Council--a professional organization representing personnel from hospitals, clinics, university settings and others involved in the child life field. The CLC membership is composed of child life specialists, educators, students, and others who use play, recreation, education, self-expression, and theories of child development to promote psychological well being and optimum development of children, adolescents, and their families. Among the programs administered by the Council leaders and staff are a
voluntary certification process, program consulting, and an annual conference.
Child Life Council publishes and makes available other relevant publications. At least one Trinity student has completed the certification process.

Dartmouth College Program in Cognitive Neuroscience--a multidisciplinary graduate group at Dartmouth College that offers a Ph.D. in Cognitive Neuroscience. Northern Illinois University--describes certification program involving a minimum of 60 semester hours, including a 9-month internship, that takes about two years to complete.
