    Douglas R. Shepson, MA

    Douglas R. Shepson is a visiting assistant professor of Christian Ministries. Prior to teaching at Trinity, Professor Shepson was working at Wheaton College, HoneyRock. At HoneyRock, he managed the Youth Ministry Certificate Program and oversaw several camping, group retreat, and adventure challenge ministries, as well as preformed a variety of administrative functions. Professor Shepson also taught youth ministry classes, adventure education, and leadership, as well as a number of sport and fitness classes.

     

    Prior to Wheaton College, Professor Shepson spent several years as a youth pastor in the Chicago area (Mount Prospect) working with junior high and high school students.

     

    Professor Shepson earned his Bachelor of Science in Psychology and History from the University of Illinois in Urbana. He also received a Master of Arts in Educational Ministries from Wheaton College. Professor Shepson is a member of the Wilderness Education Association, Christian Adventure Association, and Association of Youth Ministry Educators.

     

    Professor Shepson and his wife reside in Hainesville, Illinois. They have two young children. Professor Shepson enjoys any physical activity that increases the heart rate and includes an element of challenge and sport. Some of these activities include mountain biking, racquetball, running, and camping, as well as any team sport competition.
