David Hansen, PhD
Dr. David Hansen is assistant professor of Mathematics at Trinity College. He earned his BA at Albion College and his MS and PhD at Northwestern University.
Before coming to Trinity, Dr. Hansen studied in the Applied Mathematics department at Northwestern University, where his research concentrated on using mathematics to model problems in physics and engineering. His particular focus of research is in the area of fluid dynamics, where he models microscale flow generated by oscillating bubbles. He enjoys incorporating applications of mathematics into his teaching to help demonstrate course concepts, and he is passionate about using mathematics to understand a variety of physical phenomena in God's creation.
