    Gregory C. Carlson, PhD 

    Gregory C. Carlson is chair and professor of Christian Ministries at Trinity College, Trinity International University. He is married to Donna and they have raised three sons—all of whom are involved in acting and drama. He and Donna enjoy traveling and conducting seminars in the areas of teaching, family ministry, leadership, youth ministry, Christian education, and Bible. They have taught in China, the former Soviet Union, Jamaica, S. Korea, and West Africa.

     

    Before coming to Trinity, he was the director of the Rorheim Institute—the family and church leadership training ministry of Awana Clubs International. Greg taught at Grace University, Omaha, Nebraska, and served in various roles during a twenty-year period, including professor, dean of graduate studies, and chair of Christian education. He was ordained in 1978 and has served as a youth pastor, pastor, and adult education/family pastor and in a variety of roles in teaching and ministry.

     

    Dr. Carlson received his education from Grace University (BA, Biblical Studies), Talbot School of Theology, Biola Unversity (MA, Christian Education), and the University of Nebraska, Lincoln (PhD, Community and Human Resources).

     

    Areas of interest include teaching the Bible, youth/family ministry, and ministry skill development. He has authored and edited a variety of books, including contributing author to Four Perspectives on Children’s Spiritual Formation; Rock Solid Teacher, Discover the Joy of Teaching Like Jesus; Shepherding Parents; and Understanding Teaching Effective Biblical Teaching for the 21st Century. He has served on the boards of a variety of ministries, including the Evangelical Training Association (ETA), North American Professors of Christian Education (NAPCE), Heartland Christian Ministries Conference, Omaha, Nebraska, and Omaha Area Youth for Christ.
