Admissions

Q: Can I get in?  What are your admission requirements?

Q: How much does Trinity cost?

Q: What majors does Trinity offer?

A: Click to see a list of our 28 majors and 21 prescribed minors in programs ranging from athletic training and chemistry to music and social science.

Q: How much is your application fee?

A: Our application fee is $25.

Q: Do you waive your application fee?

A: Our application fee is waived each fall for a limited time for all applicants. Our application fee is also waived for all applicants who visit our campus if their application is postmarked within two weeks after their visit. We will review, case-by-case, requests from students who desire to apply but are unable to pay the application fee.

Q: When is your deadline to apply?

A: Trinity has what is called a "rolling admissions." This means that you can apply to Trinity for admission any time as long as we still have space available. Click here to apply online!

Q: When is a good time to visit campus?

A: You can visit our campus anytime Mon. thru Fri. from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. It is best to give us a call first at 800.822.3225 and to schedule a visit a week or two in advance. By doing so, we can make sure to put together a personalized schedule for you to visit a class and meet with a professor from the department of your interest. This way you will observe and gain the most information about Trinity you can while you are here. Chapel services can be observed on Mon., Wed., & Fri. Click here for more information.

Q: Do you have any special visit days?

A: Each year we host "Sneak Preview" events. These are special visit events that are designed to give students and parents a fun and candid glimpse of everyday life at Trinity. Visitors will attend classes, eat lunch with professors, observe a chapel service, hear about financial aid, and interact with an Admissions Counselor among other activities. Overnight housing for students will be provided in the dorms with current students.

Q: Does Trinity accept AP courses?

A: Yes. Students who earn acceptable scores in the Advanced Placement Program of the College Entrance Examination Board will receive credit at Trinity providing they receive a grade of three or better and all appropriate materials and scores are submitted to Trinity. Q: Does Trinity accept CLEP credits?

A: Yes. College Level Examination Program scores (subject examinations only) may be accepted for credit upon the recommendation of the department. A student may not earn CLEP credit for a course previously audited at Trinity. To find our more information on CLEP credits, please click here.

Q: How can I afford a private Christian school?

A: The cost of attending a private school can be discouraging at times. Trinity, however, seeks to do its part in making a quality Christian Education affordable to all. More than 90 percent of our students receive financial assistance with the average financial package covering between half and two thirds of tuition, fees, room, and board. Q: How do I select my classes and register for my student services?

A: Trinity allows new students (Freshmen and Transfers) to register for classes and select your Student Services (meal plan, health insurance, student directory, etc.) through a mail-in or web-based process. We mail out registration materials to all Confirmed students by June 15 (for fall students) and in early December (for spring students). Once students have selected their desired classes and Student Services, they will return their forms to the Admissions Office. Students will then be placed in their classes by the Associate Academic Deans Office. After placement in classes, you will receive your class schedule from the Records Office and a packet from Student Accounting Office instructing you on how to set up a payment plan. By completing the registration process for classes and the selection of your student services, you will not have to go through registration when you arrive on campus. Anyone who does not register by mail or web will have to go through registration on-campus during orientation. Readmits Students will have a different registration process and will need to contact the Admissions Office for more details.

Campus Life 

Q: What denominational affiliation is Trinity, and what does Trinity believe doctrinally?

A: Trinity is affiliated with the Evangelical Free Church of America (EFCA). Thus Trinity subscribes to the doctrinal statement of faith of the Evangelical Free Church. Trinity also has the unique advantage of having over fifty different denominations represented on campus. As a result, the atmosphere of campus is one that stimulates students to grow deeper in their knowledge of scripture and grow to be more committed in their relationship to our Lord.

Q: What percentage of students live on campus?

A: Approximately 80%of our students live on campus. Trinity benefits from have students from all over the country and in some cases all over the world which contributes to an atmosphere of community.

Q: What type of cocurricular activities are available for students?

A: Though a small Christian University, Trinity offers many cocurricular activities for students to get involved in. Below is just a sampling of the many opportunities:

Q: Can Freshmen have cars on campus?

A: A limited number of Freshmen will be able to have vehicles on campus. Freshmen students who desire to have a vehicle may complete the "Request for Permission to Register a Vehicle" form during the registration process. This request for an exception will be reviewed by the Admissions Office in conjunction with Campus Safety & Security Services. Due to a growing enrollment and the limited number of overall parking spaces on campus, we cannot guarantee that all Freshmen requests will be approved.

Q: In what situation can a student live off campus?

A: All students are required to live on campus unless they meet any of the following conditions:

  1. 21 or older
  2. Live with parents
  3. Within 30 hours of graduation
  4. Married
  5. Live-in situation

Q: Is there a problem with crime on campus?

Q: How can a student find a job?

A: The Student Employment Office has a listing of off-campus jobs, and there are plenty of on-campus jobs available, including Work-Study opportunities. Trinity has the benefit of being located in Lake County, which is one of the most affluent counties in the nation. As a result, the immediate area surrounding Trinity is one of consistent growth and opportunity; therefore, the variety of employment positions to choose from are numerous.

Q: How can a student get involved in missions opportunities at Trinity?

A: The Student Ministries Department oversees and facilitates many ministry opportunities. These opportunities range from discipleship relationships, to off-campus ministries and many missions trips.
