This character should be demonstrated by grace toward others and by a well ordered household. His family should not be burdened by excessive debt and should be responsive to his leadership.
Must be able to communicate Biblical truths accurately to individuals, small groups and the entire congregation. Teaching style - expositional, exhortative, inspirational, mission-minded (Missional).
Theological perspectives - dispensational, non-charismatic, respect elder leadership, pro-life.
Must demonstrate responsible and personal leadership skills in a team-based leadership environment.
Must demonstrate the ability to lead a diverse set of ministry teams.

Job Description: Capitol Ministries exists to make disciples of Jesus Christ in the political arena. The ministry is seeking qualified candidates for the position of state director.

Description of the Job: Interns will be required to perform 40 Hrs of work a week in positions to be determined through the interview process and may include youth work, teaching, leading small groups, teaching ESL, leading worship, college ministry, routine maintenance tasks, administration, mentoring, and fund raising.
In addition to their 40 hr work week interns will be expected to participate in regular internship small group meetings and classes (taught by a rotating staff) that will be the venue for training pertaining to the ordination/consecration process within the C&MA and urban issues. Interns will also be required to attend weekly services, prayer meetings and leadership meetings. Interns will be required to read the ordination/consecration texts of the C&MA as well as specific texts pertaining to urban issues and cross-cultural ministry.
Interns will need to become incarnate during their 2 year internship, embracing the urban culture and the community. They will be expected to live out their faith within the community and in relationship with those who are their neighbors.
Interns will need to take part in raising personal support from friends and family. They will also take part in fund raising events and the promotion of family empowerments vision and programs as necessary to raise funds for the organization.
Qualifications: Intern candidates will need to have a call to serve the Lord Jesus Christ. They will need to have the heart of a servant and must be teachable. The must have character qualities that are clearly supported through character references and in line with Biblical guidelines. They must be passionate about their faith, knowledgeable about Biblical truth, disciplined in lifestyle and Christian practice, humble, teachable, and reliable. Interns must have previous experience serving in the local church (ex. Sunday school, youth group, service ministries etc...)
Other Information: The purpose of this internship is to create an opportunity for young single adults from 18-34 years of age to participate in a 2 year program that will give them solid ministry experience in a multi-ethnic urban community, equip them with foundational cross-cultural experiences that will translate into future ministry areas for them, train them for future positions of leadership, and to assist them in acquiring their ordination (for men) or consecration (for women) within the Christian and Missionary Alliance, while at the same time providing for Family Empowerment Centers of Chicago and the community a consistent staffing resource that will take us to our next level in services and effectiveness.
