The Athletic Department hosted its 3rd Annual Timothy Award Banquet at the Meyer Sports Complex on the campus of Trinity International University on Sunday, April 25, 2004, recognizing Stephanie Whelan (volleyball and basketball) and Ryan Betscher (football) as the award recipients.

The evening began with appetizers followed by dinner, after which members of the TIU coaching staff, and current TIU student-athletes outlined the components of the Timothy Award. Graduating seniors Jessica Bents (Soccer) and Derek Winter (Soccer), the runners-up for this year's award, gave testimonies about how God had impacted them through their experiences at Trinity and within athletics.

Athletic Director Patrick Gilliam concluded the evening by "sharing his dream," encouraging the family of TIU Athletics to continue the pursuit of excellence celebrated at the Timothy Awards, and outlining his vision for the growth of Athletics at the university and its impact on the campus and beyond.
