The Trinity Softball team played for the first time in over a week today because of rain outs, and played two outstanding games which both resulted in walk off homeruns for the Trojans.

In the first contest, Jenilyn Jackson belted a solo homerun that gave the Trojans their only run until the bottom of the 7th.  In the 7th, Alicia Luebbers reached base and was along for the ride when Senior Amanda Adams connected on a two-run homerun to give the Trojans the 3-1 victory.  Heidi Carroll gave up only 3 hits and struck out 1 while picking up the win.

If one exciting finish wasn't enough, the Trojans were right back at it, and did not let up in the second game.  Bryanne McClurg and Kim Gilanyi both picked up RBIs for TIU and going to the bottom of the 7th inning, Trinity and Wheaton were tied once again, this time 2-2.  Just like Adams before her, Anna Jones cracked a walk off homerun in the bottom of the 7th to give TIU another thrilling victory over Wheaton.  Behind very sound and fundamental defense Jenna Sippel picked up the win for TIU.

The Trojans will play a great number of games in the next few weeks because of rain outs and are really starting to come together as a team.  The Trojans feel like the season is just starting and there should be plenty of good play and excitement to come.
